SPARK Club S.P.A.R.K. Club stands for Students (and Staff) Promoting Acceptance, Respect and Kindness. That is just what our members do! We are a club where everyone’s voice is heard and anyone can belong…including students and staff alike. The club meets on Wednesday’s during each month (with an occasional extra meeting if needed) right after school in the HWMS Media Center.   Typical meetings last about 45 minutes.

In the past our activities have included things such as:

    • Making Valentine’s cards and delivering them to the senior citizen home in Howell
    • Filling bags with goodies and delivering them to the students at HWMS as a “welcome back to school” treat
    • Serving as “guest custodians” to give our school custodians a day of appreciation
    • Making holiday ribbons and placing them on all of the cars in the parking lot as a surprise for people when they left work that day
    • Filling plastic eggs with treats and notes of gratitude and delivering them to all of the school bus drivers and central office staff
    • Writing thank you cards and sending them via snail mail to parents as a way of showing our appreciation
    • Serving as “ambassadors” for things such as friendship, equality, fairness, leadership, and creativity (to name just a few)
    • Being the “Secret SPARKERS” (writing notes of affirmation anonymously and leaving them for people to find)
    • Writing thank you cards and delivering them to teachers during “Teacher Appreciation” week

We believe in spreading kindness and doing good things.  All are welcome at any time to join us!

    Hope to see you there!

    Ukebirds Ukulele Club

The UkeBirds Ukulele Club meets every Friday from 2:30-3:30.  Grades 6-8 are welcome to join.  You do not need to know how to play or own your own uke, but you need to want to learn. Experienced players are SUPER encouraged to join us!!

The UkeBirds Ukulele Club is truly one of the most fun clubs around!  Learn to play popular, historic, and cultural songs while learning chords and strum patterns that make up most of the songs you listed to.  Sing along and enjoy your friends as you/we learn to play the Ukulele together!
