Technicians from the Livingston County Health Department will be at HWMS in the Guidance Office on November 28 and 29 for vision screening for all 7th graders, parent/teacher referrals and students needing to be rescreened from previous years.

  • If you do not want your 7th grade student screened, please contact the HWMS counseling office by the morning of November 28. You can leave a message at 517-548-6259 or email Mrs. Folk at [email protected].
  • If you would like your 6th or 8th grade HWMS student to have their vision screened, please contact the HWMS counseling office by the morning of November 28 and we will be sure that they are seen. You can leave a message at 517-548-6259 or email Mrs. Folk at [email protected]
  • Virtual students can have their vision screened free of charge at the Livingston County Health Department by calling 517-546-9850 to make an appointment. They have appointments available twice a month. You may also contact our Guidance Office, if you wish for your student to be screened while the technicians are at HWMS.
  • If your student wears glasses or contacts, please remind them to wear them on those dates.
  • Students who do not pass the initial screening will be rescreened. If they do not pass the rescreen, a letter will be mailed home recommending that the student be seen by an eye doctor for a complete examination.
